Rebecca Ann “Becky” Henningson

Rebecca Ann “Becky” Henningson, 79, of Cassville, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lakewood Memory Care in Springfield.

She was born October 5, 1946, in Cassville, the daughter of Norman and Shirley (Farwell) Chaney, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Clay Chaney.

On December 27, 1969, in Cassville, she was united in marriage to Marvin Peter “Butch” Henningson Jr., who survives. Additional survivors include her daughters, Jennifer Epperly and her husband Kelley of Springfield, and Andrea Sarratt and her husband David of Rogers, Ark; her brother, Gary Chaney and his wife Becky of Wesley, Ark; her sisters, Lindy Gibson and her husband Mike of Cassville, and Cindy Ledgerwood and her husband S.T. of Rogers, Ark.; and six grandchildren, 

Becky graduated from Cassville High School in 1964. She attended the University of Arkansas and earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. She began her teaching career at Southwest School District in Washburn,  She later joined the Cassville School District as a physical education teacher and coach, where she dedicated 27 years to education before her retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the United Methodist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Pastor Jeff Fugitt and Pastor Jeffrey Gibson will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, Missouri. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the United Methodist Church in Cassville. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the Coach Becky Henningson Memorial Scholarship or Cassville United Methodist Youth Group in memory of Becky.
