Richard Bennett Marquier

Richard Bennett Marquier, 74, of Aurora passed away Nov. 23, 2020, Jacob’s Care Center in Springfield.  He was born July 30, 1946, in Orange, NJ. the son of Frank and Gertrude (Jeffries) Marquier.
He was a 1965 graduate of Morristown High School in Morristown, NJ., and attended the Culinary Institute of America and worked as a chef.  He served in the United States Navy for four years and in the Navy Reserves for 20 years.  He was a member of the Church in Action in Mt. Vernon.
On Feb. 14, 1987, he married Janice Darlene Moore in Aurora.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Sophia Marquier and Isabelle Marquier both of Aurora; sisters, Cynthia Potter and Kristine Varsal both of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank and Geoff Marquier.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at the Church in Action in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
