Richard Christian Scheihing

Richard Christian Scheihing, 79, of Pierce City, passed away Nov. 19, 2020 at his home. He was born in Poplar Bluff July 13, 1941. He was the son of Rev. Chris and Kathryn (Short) Scheihing. He graduated from Branson High School in 1959 and attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar where he obtained an Associates of Business degree. He married Judy Crosby June 15, 1963 in Branson. He was the Executive Vice President and Compliance Officer at 1st State Bank in Pierce City from 1969 through his retirement on May 31. 2008. He also sold insurance during that time. He attended First Baptist Church in Pierce City for many years and served as deacon. Later, he attended First Baptist Church in Monett where he was active as a Sunday School teacher and mowed the lawn.
Surviving are the following: his wife; son, Matt (Amy) Scheihing of Springfield; daughter, Susie (Gary) Gasser of Pierce City; sister, Kathy (Mike) Yount of Fredericktown; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family received friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City Nov. 22, 2020. Graveside services were at Pierce City Cemetery Nov. 23, 2020.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
