Richard L. Reed

Richard L. Reed, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. He was born on  April 9, 1932 in Springfield, to Floyd and Lena Reed.
Reed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 39 years as a shop foreman for the city of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 55 years Frances and one sister Dorothy Dixon.
Reed is survived by his four children Kathleen Homsey ( Peter), Charles Renshaw (Charise Price), Debbie Evans (Mark) and Randy Reed; one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Dec. 21,2021 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO 65802 with funeral services that followed at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
