Richard Leroy Haase

Richard Leroy Haase, 77, of Pierce City passed away Dec. 19, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. He was born July 8, 1943 in Newton County the son of Earl E. Haase and Laveta (Davis) Haase. Both preceded him in death. On Oct. 19, 1965, he was united in marriage to Clarice Gay (Davidson) Haase, who preceded him in death. Also, preceding him were son, Mark Haase and brother, Dan Haase.
Surviving are the following: daughter, Katrina (Kenneth) Carney of Wheaton; sons, Carl (Krissy) Haase of Pierce City, Philip (Tina) Haase of Wentworth, Nathan (Jennifer) Haase of Pierce City, Benjamin (Lanea) Haase of Pierce City, and Jacob (Kellie) Haase of Pierce City; sister, Earlene (Bob) Gilman of Jacksonville, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and a host of other family and friends.
He was a lifelong resident of the Pierce City/Wentworth area. He graduated from Midway High School, Newtonia, in 1962. He was a dairy farmer then raised beef cattle while working other jobs to make ends meet while raising his family. He worked at Talbot Wire in Neosho, helped his brother Dan on his dairy and worked at EFCO of Monett until retirement in 2007. He attended Van Buren Baptist Church in Wentworth for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wheaton.
The family recieved friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City Dec. 22, 2020 from 1-2 p.m. Graveside services were held at Pierce City Cemetery Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Spears officiating.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
