Richard Warren Rhea

Richard Warren Rhea, 81, of Monett passed away on Nov. 5, 2020 at his home after a short battle with cancer. Rhea was born on Aug. 12, 1939 to Chester and Zettie Rhea in Purdy. He was the youngest of 12 children. He graduated from Purdy High School with the class of 1958.
He married Velma (Conley) Rhea on Oct. 31, 1958 in Purdy. To this union, four children were born, Alan Frederick, Diann Lorene, Edward Warren, and Ashley Renee. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Diann (Mike) Wallace; son, Edward (Tracy); daughter, Ashley (Brett); daughter-in-law, Debra Rhea; grandson, Richard (Traci); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one grandson and great-grandson. He is also survived by brother, Bill Anita Rhea of Lone Jack, along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 10 of his other brothers and sisters; and his son, Alan Rhea.
A private family funeral service was held Nov. 7, 2020. A public graveside service was held Nov. 7, 2020 at Stones Prairie Cemetery in Purdy.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett and the St. John’s Lutheran Church Stones Prairie Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
