Robert D.L. Whitworth

Robert D.L. Whitworth, 75, passed away on Sept. 09, 2021, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born in Kansas City, the son of Thomas and Doris (Morain) Butner. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was the song director for many years at Pleasant View Baptist Church, before moving to First Baptist Church, where he loved to sing to the congregation, periodically.
 He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Tommy Lee Butner, Linda Baker and Vicki Butner. Whitworth is survived by his children, Melody (Gabriel) Page, Stephanie Whitworth, Bret (Heather) Whitworth, Brian (Jennifer) Whitworth and Stephen Whitworth; siblings, Floyd Butner, Jamie Butner, Hazel Paris, Dottie Wilkes, Georgia Leisure; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Whitworth will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep.18, at First Baptist Church, 305 N. Main Ave., Republic, Missouri. Services will follow at 3 p.m.. Burial will be held at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
