Robert Leon Barnes

Robert Leon Barnes, 75, of Verona, passed away Jan. 13, 2020 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born to Clyde and Stella Smith Barnes Jan. 5, 1945 in Aurora. He was a retired electrical engineer and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include: brother, Rex Barnes of Verona; sisters, Maxine Dawson of Verona, Betty Melton of Aurora and Freida Hilton of Republic; and a very dear friend, Charlotte McCracken. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Freddy, Lonnie and Raymond Barnes; and sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Barbara Garoutte.
Graveside services were held Jan. 16, 2020 in Maple Park Cemetery with full Military Honors under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
