Robert V. Scott

Robert V. “Bob” Scott, 91, of Seligman, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora.
He was born on March 14, 1930 in Mantee, Miss. the son of Lonnie D. and Zona (Dura) Scott. On March 15, 1953 in Oak Grove, he was united in marriage to Betty Dewitt, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are three daughters, Dr. Shari Thompson of Marshall, Regina Scott of Columbia, and Johnna Beitler of Springfield; one brother, Harold Scott (Charlotte) of Meridian, Miss.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren.
Scott graduated from Cumberland High School in Webster County, Miss. After high school he attended Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. and was awarded a degree. Scott was in the ministry for 61 years, the majority of which was spent ministering in Southern Barry County. After his retirement as pastor of Seligman First Baptist Church, he attended Victory Baptist Church in Cassville.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Randy Comer conducted the services. Burial was at King Cemetery in Seligman.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
