Robert Wayne Woodson

Robert Wayne Woodson, 93, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Jan. 11, 2020, at the Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born April 23, 1926, in Mt. Vernon,to Frank Bradford and Alma Chloe (King) Woodson.
Woodson was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, and was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He retired from the Mt. Vernon Post Office. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. In 1961, he married Floretta Jean Dickerson, in Mt. Vernon.
Woodson is survived by: his wife of 58 years; sister, Rae Anna McShane, of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Janice; and brother, Charles.
A visitation, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon was held Jan. 15, 2020, at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service that followed. Burial was at the Summit Cemetery.
