Rodney Walters

Rodney Walters, 62, of Grove, Okla., passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2021. Walters was born in Kansas City on June 2, 1959, to Carl E. Walters and Lila (Shaw) Walters. He moved to Golden City in the second grade and remained a Golden City Eagle until his graduation in 1978. He went on to further his education at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan., where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Technology in 1985.
He went on to work for Thorco Industries in Lamar, where he worked in quality control. Later in life Walters moved to Grove, Okla. to enjoy retirement and fishing.
Walters is survived by his daughter, Sierra Hinkle,  (Colby), of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his sister, Anissa Walters Long and nephew, of Webb City; best friend and brother, Jim Tucker (Rita), and their children of Grove, Okla.; and his uncle and aunt, Orrin and Agnes Shaw of Lockwood.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until service time in the funeral chapel on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
