Shirley Ann Blackburn (Thompson)

Shirley Ann Blackburn (Thompson) was born on May 11, 1932 in Keokuk, Iowa to Richard and Wilma Thompson and passed away on June 5, 2021 surrounded by family.
Blackburn is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Robert Blackburn, along with two daughters Susan and Karen Blackburn. She is survived by five children, Samuel Ramsey, Dale Velinsky, Jeannine Wilson (Rick), Chris Blackburn (Shelley), Sherry Bollinger (Kenny), and Linda Blackburn. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 
Celebration of life service was scheduled for Tuesday June 8, 2021 at the Fossett Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation began at 9:30 a.m. and service was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. She will be buried on the hill of the Mt. Vernon City Park Cemetery, just north of the Senior Center. 
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her honor to Kehilat Nahar Zerach River Rising Congregation, 541 Country Lane, in Mt. Vernon.
