Shirley Ann Buchanan

Shirley Ann Buchanan, 83, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026 at The Maples Health and Rehabilitation in Springfield.
 
She was born Feb. 21, 1942 in Purdy, the daughter of Walden and Ruby (Savage) Buchanan, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother and sister-in-law, Ulias and Anna May Buchanan; sister, Betty Copeland, infant sister, Arlene Buchanan; nephews, Kenny Buchanan and Ricky Buchanan and her beloved dog, Nikki.
Surviving are her brother, Carl Buchanan and wife Patty of Golden; brother-in-law, Ira Copeland and wife Marie of Branson, and several nieces and nephews.
 
She grew up and attended school in Cassville, graduating from Cassville High School with the class of 1961. After graduating she was employed by Litho Printers. Upon moving to Overland Park, Kan., she worked at Herald and Banner Press for several years from where she retired. She was very active with her church, South Park Church of God Holiness. After retiring, she moved to Springfield. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling with Ira and Betty. 
 
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at Sparks Cemetery in Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Don Englund will conduct the services. 
 
Contributions may be made to South Park Church of God Holiness or The Gideons International in memory of Shirley.
