Shirley Ann Soper

Shirley Ann Soper, 85, of Lamar, passed away March 22, 2020 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin.
She was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Aurora, to the late John L. Murray and Ruth Ann Brewer Murray. She attended Aurora High School, and Missouri State University and Missouri Southern State University to earn a business degree. She worked at several locations throughout her career, retiring from International Dehydrated Food in Monett, working in the human resources department. She was a longtime volunteer with the Good Samaritans, and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lamar.
Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl (James) Wood of Golden City; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Gary (Mary) Murray of Chesterfield; and one nephew of Butterfield. She was preceded in death by: former husbands, C.R. West and Robert Soper; son, Michael Dean West; a great-grandson; brother, John Raymond Murray; and a nephew.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
