Shirley Marie Cain

Shirley Marie Cain, 74, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Wier, Kan., the daughter of Dewey and Lydia Mae (Jacquient) Pennington.
She graduated from McPherson High School in McPherson, Kan. and was a manager at the Harris Teeter Grocery Store.
On Dec. 25, 1964, she married Donald David Cain, in McPherson, Kan.
Cain is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald; one daughter, Judy Englehupt of Concord, N.C.; two sons, Donald David Cain II (Loutricia), of China Grove, N.C. and Lloyd Cain (Crissie), of Kannapolis, N.C.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one brother, Dewey Pennington (Yvonne), of Lehigh, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey, and Lydia; one sister, Janice Behr and one brother, Donald Pennington.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon.
