Miller gets perfect score, Mt. Vernon, Aurora drop from last year
The Missouri State Highway Patrol completed their 2019 school bus inspections throughout the state, with several local schools earning good marks.
Inspected buses are given a result of approved, defective or out-of-service, based on what is found through the inspection process.
Depending on the rating given, buses may continue service or may be taken out of rotation until issues are addressed and fixed.
School districts are given 10 days to correct issues and must be reinspected by Highway Patrol personnel. Buses not submitted for reinspection within the 10 day period are then reported to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Here’s a look at how local schools of interest fared.
-Ash Grove - 93.8 percent (up from 81.3 percent in 2018); 16 buses were presented and 15 were approved. One bus was found to be defective, but no buses were taken out of service.
-Aurora - 83.3 percent (down from 100 percent in 2018); 24 buses were presented and 20 were approved. Two buses were found to be defective and two were marked out of service.
