Steven Scott Washam

Steven Scott Washam, 65, of Aurora passed away at 11:59 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Jacob’s Ladder Hospice in Springfield, MO.
He was born July 24, 1955, the son of Don and Betty Washam in Aurora.  He was a graduate of Aurora High School class of 1973.  He was active in sports, football and baseball were his favorites, even though his abilities were limited after an accident involving a discus in 1970.  He was able to play football in 1972 and baseball in 1973.  He was always a dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Scotty was a member of Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  One of his favorite places was Camp Cumberland at Greenfield, MO. each year.  He was baptized in Honey Creek north of Aurora on July 20, 1969, the day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.
He was a hard worker for 25 years at Syntex and Tysons 10 plus years.  He retired in June of 2020.
Survivors include his parents, Don and Betty Washam; two sons, Sam and Nick of Aurora; two brothers, Mike of Aurora and Mark (Shelley) of Springfield; one granddaughter, Kinsley Washam of Aurora; and one uncle, Dean Washam of Miller.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Minnie Washam and Abb and Amelia Hulen.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 16 from 4-6 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Chapel.  Due to the Covid-19 the family asks for everyone to wear masks and practice social distancing.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. 
Memorials may be made to the Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
