Velma Caroline Balden

Velma Caroline Balden, 96, of Pierce City, passed away Jan. 25, 2020 at Cox-Monett in Monett. She was born in Sarcoxie, June 26, 1923, to John A. and Carolene (Block) Eimer. Balden worked at Jumping Jacks Shoe Factory and spent many years as a homemaker. She graduated from Diamond High School.
 Surviving are the following: daughter, Melissa (John) LeMaster of Pierce City; sister, Marjorie Baker of Memphis, Tenn.; one niece; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Paul Matthews and George Balden; sister, Helen Crossno; and brother, Floyd Eimer.
Services will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, on Jan. 29, 2020 at 1 p.m. Burial was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City. Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
