Virginia Rose “Babe” Angus

Virginia Rose “Babe” Angus, 93, of Aurora passed away Nov. 21, 2020, at the Aurora Nursing Center.  She was born March 26, 1927, in Aurora, the daughter of Elmer Marion and Edith Rae (McKinley) Powell.
She worked for the Juvenile Shoe Factory, in Aurora, for several years before her daughters were born. After having Diana and Donna she was a stay at home mom and became a babysitter for numerous children in Aurora over the years.  She was a member of the Engage Church of Aurora. On Aug. 14, 1948, she married Thomas Lynn “Tommy” Angus in Eureka Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2017.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana (Jim) Friggle of Aurora and Donna (Mark) Harmsworth of Willard; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Donald “Boone” Powell of Springfield; sister-in-law, Beverly Fulp of Aurora and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and nine brothers and sisters.
A visitation was held Nov. 24, 2020, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a graveside service followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
