Welburn Lancen Poole

Wilburn Lancen Poole, 84, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at Freeman Health System West in Joplin. He was born in Huffman, Ark. on Friday, Aug.  27, 1937; son of Wilburn and Louise (Cribbs) Poole. Poole attended Couch High School. He served in the Air Force and Army Reserve. Furthering his education, he attended the University of California-Fresno where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in Business Finance. Poole was owner/president of Monte Vista Development, Corp in Calif., Ariz., Nev., and Idaho where over 4,000 homes were constructed. He married Lois Beavers on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1976, in Reno, Nev.
 Poole was President of Building Industry Association in San Joaquin Valley, Calif. and former vice-president of Wells Fargo Bank in Redwood City, Calif. He was a member of the Elks Fraternal Organization.  
Surviving are his wife, Lois of Joplin; three sons, Marc Poole of Phoenix, Ariz., Keith (Aimee) Poole of Chandler, Ariz., and Wyatt (Kristen) Poole of Las Vegas, Nev; one daughter, Kimberly Poole of Lexington, Ky; four grandchildren; and one brother, Daniel (Pamela) Poole of Clovis, Calif.
Poole was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Louise Poole.
Graveside service, with Military Honors, was at Andelin Family Cemetery in Pierce City at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, with Elder Brandon Fordham of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating.  Burial followed at Andelin Family Cemetery in Pierce City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
