William Gorman Jr.

William Gorman Jr., 76, of Monett, passed away Aug. 16, 2020 while staying at Bentonview Park Health and Rehab in Monett. He was born Oct. 8, 1943 in Kansas City, Kan. to the late William and Gladys (Lightner) Gorman Sr. He was united in marriage in 1980 in Kansas City, to Marilyn Fugitt; she preceded him in death July 5, 2020.
He was a retired factory worker; and an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Monett V.F.W. Post# 4207, the American Legion Post#91 and the Christian Bikers.
Gorman is survived by: son, Patrick Gorman of Wentworth; daughters, Lanitia Ness of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Shelley Young of Warrensburg; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is being held Aug. 20, 2020 from 9-10 a.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 10 a.m. Aug. 20, 2020 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow services at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
