William Herbert "Herb" Wittington, Jr.

William Herbert “Herb” Whittington, Jr., 83, of Springfield, formerly of Aurora, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at Maranatha Village, in Springfield. He was born March 11, 1939, in Purdy, the son of Herb and Faye (Sanders) Whittington, Sr.
Wittington was a 1956 graduate of Puxico High School in Puxico, and received his master’s degree from the University of Missouri, in Columbia. He was a United States Navy veteran, dairy farmer, and an estimator with EFCO Corporation in Monett. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora.
He is survived by his son, Greg Whittington (Lisa), of Springfield; and three grandchildren.
Whittington was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Faye and daughter, Rita Whittington.
A visitation was from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a graveside service that followed at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Butterfield.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Alzheimer’s Society or ALS Association, in care of the funeral home.
