Roberta Lynn “Bobby” Sumner

Roberta Lynn “Bobby” Sumner, 81, of Aurora, passed away Sept. 29, 2018, at her home. She was born May 25, 1937, in Chicago, Ill. to the late Lyle Everett and Kathrine Ruth (Walstra) Hedrick.
Sumner was a 1955, graduate of Rosemead High School in Rosemead, Calif. and was an assistant cook for the Senior Citizens Center in Douglas County, Nev. In 1996, she married Jake Sumner.
She is survived by: her husband, Jake; daughters, Victoria Steelsmith and Michelle Mello, both of Gardnerville, Nev.; sons, Richard Tapparo of San Dimas, Calif. and Phillip Webber of Drakes Branch, Va.; brother, Bruce Hedrick of Reno, Nev.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora was held Oct. 9, 2018, at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield. Online condolences may be shared at this website.
