Leona Mae (Allman) Thompson

Leona Mae (Allman) Thompson passed away Dec. 14, 2019 at Oak Pointe in Monett. She was born Aug. 10, 1922 in Pineville to John William and Eula Grace (Powers) Allman.
She was a graduate of Purdy High School class of 1940 and went on to Teacher’s College in Springfield. She married Perry Thompson in 1942. They moved to Scottsbluff, Neb. after WWII where she gave birth to her sons. She was a homemaker and after Perry’s retirement from the USPS in 1976, they retired to Sun City, Ariz. She moved to Monett, in October 2019.
She is survived by: two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband; sons, Donald A. and Allan B. Thompson.
A memorial will be held at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Ariz. as she was interred with her husband. Arrangements were entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
