Shirley “Jeanne” Myers

Shirley “Jeanne” Myers, 76, of Stotts City passed away Oct. 6 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield surrounded by family.
She was born May 27, 1944 in Springfield to the late Robert and Shirley Stirewalt. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. In 1962 she was married to Melvin Myers. Together they shared 58 years. For several years she was an educator for Christian schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stotts City.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Terry (Rhonda) Myers of Ft. Scott, Kan. and Michael (Cindy) Myers of Sarcoxie; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Stirewalt of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Shirley Stirewalt; brother, Reverend Randall Stirewalt.
A graveside funeral service was held Oct. 10 at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral in Sarcoxie.
