Wilma E. (Billie) Wallace

Wilma E. (Billie) Wallace, 81, of Marionville, formerly of Monett, passed away Oct. 14, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
Wallace was born on Nov. 15, 1938 in Mt. Vernon to Willard and Ruhammah Jenkins. She went to a small black country school until her parents moved to Mt. Vernon where she would continue attending school until her graduation in 1956.
She married Leo Wallace on Feb. 24, 1957 and they were happily married. Two children were born into the marriage, Terry Lee Wallace and Tammi Lea Wallace (Hodge).
She is survived by her sister, Donna Harris of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Tammi (Tony) Hodge of Cassville; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Wallace of Monett; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; God-daughters, Shari (Brad) Young and Shona Mitchell; and God-son, T.J. (Leann) Moss. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Terry Wallace; her parents; grandparents, Winfred and Fannie Hendricks and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
 She attended Chapel of Grace Church in Monett for many years. She was a homemaker, mom and babysitter. After raising kids, she was a cashier at the grocery store that she and her husband owned in Miller. She also worked at the Woods Craft-Store in Monett for several years.
A graveside service was held Oct. 19, 2020 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
