Brian “Scotty Mac” McWilliams

Brian “Scotty Mac” McWilliams, 60, passed away May 3, 2021 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin. He was born on Dec. 14, 1960 to Jim McWilliams and Sandra Fasken Newman in Carthage. He was a lineman in Tulsa, Okla., and worked for Carthage Water and Electric for the past 29 years. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Hughes on Aug. 30, 1996 at the Methodist Church in Avilla; she survives.
He is survived by son, Eric McWilliams (Becky) of Carthage; daughter, Jackie Williams (Josh) of Jasper; his mother; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
