Elmer Lee Davis

Elmer Lee Davis, Sr., 82, of Monett passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at his home in Monett.
Davis was born on April 19,1939 in Joplin, son of Dorothy and John M. Davis. On June 28, 1965, Elmer married Kathy Moreno and they had four children. Davis was a meat cutter in California and later here in Missouri for Consumers Grocery Markets. After retiring from Consumers he worked a number of years for International Dehydrated Foods of Monett. Elmer proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and in 1997 he retired from the Missouri National Guard where he served 23 years in the 203D EN BN with C company in Monett. He attended the Briar Patch Fellowship in Anderson.
Davis is survived by two sons, Elmer Davis, Jr., (Dianna) and Dep Davis (Latricia) all of Monett; two daughters, Crystal Judy (Lamar Burke) of Monett and Pearl Wagoner (Dusty) of Topeka, Kan. He also leaves behind one brother, Kevin Davis (Kay) of Mt. Vernon, and two sisters Helen Kelly of Joplin and Bernice Davidson of Carthage. Davis was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren. He also had 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (Knaust) and John Davis.
Services and military honors for Davis were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 at the Buchanan Funeral Home. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later time in the Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Ozark Food Harvest, 2810 N Cedarbrook Ave., Springfield, MO 65803. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
