Richard Conway

Richard “Dick” Conway, 74, of Monett, passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, while at his home.
Conway was born on Oct. 10, 1947 in Albia, Iowa son of the late Michael Donald Conway and Catherine Frances (Callahan) Conway. He grew up in Melrose, Iowa and graduated from Albia High School with the class of 1965. He furthered his education by attending Centerville Community College. Conway served his country honorably in the Army National Guard from 1966 until 1972. Throughout his working life, he was a valued employee for Morton Buildings Inc. He devoted nearly 50 years to the company, moving from Iowa in 1976 to start the Monett office.
Conway was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City.  
On May 26, 1972 in Georgetown, Iowa, Conway married Barbara Vincent and spent 50 years together.  
Conway is survived by his wife Barbara, of the home; three daughters, Robin Henderson (Randy) of Purdy; Jodi Arnold of Monett; Nikki Taylor (Rob) of Boulder, Colo.; one son, Jay Conway (Andrea) of Republic; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Conway also leaves three brothers, Bob Conway of Missouri, Jerry Conway and Brian Conway of Iowa; four sisters, Bernadine Judge and Sandra Weesner of Iowa, Marilyn Roach (Dennis) of Arizona and Barbara Crowell (Larry) of Missouri; one brother-in-law, Jeff Vincent (Jeanne) of Iowa; one sister-in-law, Beverlee Max (Tim) of Oregon; as well as many extended family members and friends.       
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the church with prayer vigil to begin at 7 p.m. and Rosary to follow. Memorial donations can be made to the Conway memorial fund. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
