Dixie Graves Hawkins Wilks

Dixie Graves Hawkins Wilks, 82, of Monett, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.
She was born on June 15, 1939 in Meansville, Ga., the daughter of John and Bessie (Allen) Weatherly.               
On Aug. 31, 1958, she married Bill Hawkins. To this union, two children were born. Bill preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1971. On Jan. 1, 1990, Wilks married Jim Wilks. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Wilks was also preceded in death by three brothers, Benjamin, Grady and Allen Weatherly; two sisters, Alma Forehand and Evelyn Tyus; and one grandson, William Hawkins III. 
Surviving are son, Bill Hawkins (Kristen), of Carthage; daughter, Tracy Wimberley (Russell) of Monett; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Compton of Georgia and Madge Cowan of Florida.
Private services will be held for the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
