Howard Lee Hartin

Howard Lee Hartin, 80, of Aurora passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 after a long illness.
He was born in Crane, the son of Clanton “Pete” and Hazel (Elkins) Hartin.
Hartin married Carole Carr Simpson in 1991 and lived in Springfield before moving to Aurora in 2004. He retired from Associated Grocers in Springfield after a 28-year career.
Survivors include his wife, Carole of 31 years; daughters, Melissa “Missi” Sayers (Don) of Crane, Wendi Buckmaster (Rob) of Ozark and Belinda Rice of Verona; sons, Russell Hartin (Trinity) of Cassville and David Hartin of Harrison, Ark.; sister, Norma Amos of Aurora; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
Hartin is preceded in death by his parents, Clanton and Hazel Hartin; a sister, Ilene Skinner; and brother, Raymond Hartin; son-in-law Eddie Rice.
Gravesides services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 25, in Spring River Cemetery under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
