Norma Lee Hopkins Owens

Norma Lee Hopkins Owens, 90, of Marionville passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home. She was born Oct. 8, 1931, in Republic the daughter of William Thomas and Cora Della (Maples) Sparkman.
She was a 1950 graduate of Marionville High School and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Marionville.
In 1950, she married Virgil Dean Hopkins, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1987. On Jan. 5, 1996, she married James Kenneth Owens in Marionville. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Brent Hopkins (Debbie) and David Hopkins (Sandy); two daughters, Lesa Dummit (Eric) and Nancy Ghan (Gary); one daughter-in-law, Shirley Hopkins, all of Marionville; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Cora; husbands, Virgil Hopkins, and James Owens; infant son, Jeffrey Hopkins; son, Steve Hopkins; two sisters, Geraldine Moody, and Janice Pendleton and four brothers, Leo, James, Billy and Verlin Sparkman.
A funeral service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Marionville. Burial followed at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
