Mt. Vernon FFA’ers attend Area 11 Speaking Contest

Mt. Vernon High School FFA took 22 students to compete in the Area 11 Speaking Contest on Nov. 10. These members researched, wrote, memorized and delivered a six to eight minute speech. These are all sponsored by statewide commodity groups.
The students who place in the top three move on to districts. Farm Bureau, David Fox 1st; Pork, Aubree Rogerson 1st and Dakota Meshburger 3rd; Soil and Water, Emily Fox 1st, Raegan Pendleton 2nd and Faith Hendry, Chapter; Hardwood Forests, Jaden Kultgen 1st and Myah Neimeyer; Quarterhorses, Lindsay McDonald 1st and Colton Aleshire; Teach Ag- Callie Augusta 1st; Cooperatives, Ryleigh Misemer 2nd and Kade Jenkins-Alt.; Missouri Cattlemen’s, Ally Burk 2nd and Gabe Newman; Pet Breeders, Emma Moore 3rd, Eevie Jones, alt. and Gavin Mace-Chapter, Young Farmers, Emily Wilke 3rd and Chris Phelan.
