It had been over a year since the Lady Mt’neers had competed in district basketball and they returned in a big way. Mt. Vernon wiped the floor with Seneca, Monday night in a resounding 68-25 win.

Monday, Feb. 5, was the first meeting between the Mt. Vernon Lady Mt’neers and the Aurora Lady Houn’s since February of 2022 when Aurora downed the defending state runner ups 40-36, after the Lady Mt’neers season ended prematurely a year ago.

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Mt. Vernon High School senior Braxton Horton signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and football career at Missouri Southern State University.
