After a fantastic regular season that saw the Lady Mt’neers tennis team go 10-3 and receive the top seed in their district tournament that took place last week, two representatives will move on to the state meet.

The Mt. Vernon girls golf team continues to succeed with improving scores and consistency. As a team, they won the Cassville Invitational Tournament on Sept. 21 with a team score of 383, including three top 10 finishes in Kenadi Killingsworth, Madi Phillips, and Emmie Schubert.

The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers defeated Springfield Catholic’s Fighting Irish, 40-0, during their homecoming game at Mt’neer Stadium on Friday, Sept. 29. It was the team’s fifth victory of the season, as well as their second shut-out win.

The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers won their fourth consecutive victory of the football season when they faced off with the Logan-Rogersville Wildcats during an away game at Rogersville on Friday, Sept. 15.
