Mt. Vernon School District’s Sue Barb and Ammie Rinker were recognized on Thursday, Sept. 21, as the MV-MVP’s for the month of September. Barb is the Data Coordinator and Rinker is the AESOP/SIS Coordinator for the school district. Below is the text from co-workers who nominated them:

A Mt. Vernon man has been charged with robbery following a hold up of a Marionville Casey’s convenience store while armed with a handgun late in the evening on Sept. 30.

The Mt. Vernon High School Homecoming Court was presented on the field at Mt’neer Stadium on Friday, Sept. 29. Reese Barrett was crowned homecoming queen prior to the game against Springfield Catholic, which the Mt’neers won, 40-0.

8th defendant cuts deal with county prosecutor
Frank Sheridan, the eighth defendant in the murder of Sarah Pasco in 2020 has recently come to trial and received a sentence of five years probation.
