Richard L. Reed, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021. He was born on April 9, 1932 in Springfield, to Floyd and Lena Reed.
Reed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired after 39 years as a shop foreman for the city of Springfield.
Carolyn Jean Pilkerton, 83, of Aurora passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

Juanita Agusta Mahurin, 93, of Aurora passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021 at her daughters home in Cassville.
She was born to Elmer and Letta James Mitchell on May 25, 1928 in Goodman. She was a retired garment factory worker.
Bobby Leroy Barker, age 91, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home, in Mt. Vernon. He was born March 26, 1930, in Golden City, Missouri, the son of Oscar Elbert and Ella (Culver) Barker.
Robert Henry Niles, Jr., 74, of Aurora passed away Dec. 29, 2021 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
He was born to Robert and Leona Fitch Niles, Sr. on June 25, 1947 in Los Angeles County, Calif. He was a retired electrician.
Marilyn Jean Long, 79, of Monett, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021.
Long was born on Feb. 21, 1942 in Pierce City, at her family’s home, the only daughter born to the late William Marion Hunnell and Luella Elva (Smith) Hunnell.
Clarence Henry “Snags” Lechner, 91, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, while awaiting treatment for internal bleeding at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
